I live in the Denver Metro area and grew up, went to college and started my career in the Los Angeles area. I’ve been working primarily remote since around 2017
I started doing hardware and software field support, remote support and QA but quickly found a love for process and automation and moved to the areas of build/deploy automation, devops/sre/scm with a few forays into project management here and there
I’d say my strongest points alongside having a few very long jokes that I regularly tell very well are
- seeing and understanding the big picture
- communication skills
- understanding tools and technology at a deep level. My starting point for learning anything new is “is there an API? Let me start writing some code”
- Understanding all aspects of software engineering since I’ve been heavily involved in all aspects of sofrware
- designing and writing custom automation, dashboards, integrations etc. Primarily python running in a container/docker these days
